Welcome to Craft Finder. If you view, use and/ or contribute to this website you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms. If you do not agree with them, then do not view, use or contribute to the site.

About the terms

These terms may change at any time so check back regularly for any amendments. You will be legally bound by the terms in place whenever you are viewing, using or contributing to the site.

We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and have notified the Information Commissioner about our data use. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified you can be confident that it will only be used in accordance with our privacy policy

Craft Finder would like to provide an online service 24 hours each day but cannot guarantee such a high level of service. We will do our utmost to keep any disruptions to a minimum and may let users know of any planned downtime. We cannot be liable should the site not be available.

Craft Finder invites and selects makers who produce high standards of work to create profiles for visitors to view. As a result we hope the content you see is accurate, timely and suitable but we cannot guarantee it. If you see something offensive or otherwise inappropriate let us know as soon as possible so we can deal with it. We encourage visitors to check information before making special journeys to prevent disappointment.

Some content (text, images, video and audio) displayed on the Craft Finder websites may cause offence in certain contexts and may not be suitable for display to young children.

Craft Finder has links to others sites which we believe will be of interest to our visitors. However, our terms of use do not apply to these sites, we cannot endorse their content and we cannot guarantee that they will meet with your approval.

We want you to let other Craft Finder visitors know your views about contemporary craft. In doing this we ask that you register with us.

Any contribution should be constructive and polite. Material which is fraudulent, harmful or just advertising is not welcome and will be removed if reported. Racist, sexist or homophobic comments or those discriminating on the grounds of religion or impairment will also be removed if reported.

Legally, you are not allowed to submit or share any defamatory or illegal material of any nature, or to contribute to Craft Finder with the intention of committing or promoting an illegal act. You must not use the sites in a way which infringes the rights of, restricts or inhibits anyone else's use and enjoyment of the Craft Finder sites. You must not violate, plagiarise or infringe the rights of Craft Finder Ltd or third parties including copyright, trademark, trade secrets, privacy, publicity, personal or proprietary rights.

If you fail to adhere to these guidelines we may close your account without notifying you in advance.

By sharing any contribution (including text, images, video, audio) with Craft Finder, you agree to grant Craft Finder a royalty-free, non-exclusive worldwide licence under copyright and any other intellectual property rights or similar rights existing elsehwere in the world to enable Craft Finder to publish, use, reproduce, reformat, amend and make available to the public.

In order that Craft Finder can use your contribution, you confirm that that you are the owner of the copyright and other intellectual property rights for the material or that you are authorised by the copyright owner(s); you confirm the material is not defamatory; you confirm the material does not infringe any law; and you indemnify Craft Finder against all legal fees, damages and other expenses that may be incurred by Craft Finder as a result of your breach of the above.

Craft Finder normally shows your name with your contribution and may need to contact you for administrative or verification purposes in relation to your contribution.

If you do not want to grant Craft Finder Ltd the permission set out above on these terms, please do not submit or share your contribution to or with Craft Finder websites.

All content (including applications) included on the Craft Finder websites remains vested in Craft Finder or its licensors (which includes artists, curators and other users), and is protected by copyright, trade marks, design rights, patents and other intellectual property Rights (registered and unregistered). You may not copy, reproduce, republish, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer, download, post, broadcast, transmit, make available to the public, or otherwise use Craft Finder website content in any way except for your own personal, non-commercial use. You also agree not to adapt, alter or create a derivative work from any Craft Finder website content except for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other use of Craft Finder website content requires the prior written permission of Craft Finder Ltd.

The names, images and logos identifying Craft Finder or third parties and their products and services are subject to copyright, design rights and trade marks of Craft Finder Ltd and/or third parties. Nothing contained in these terms shall be construed as conferring any licence or right to use any trade mark, design right or copyright of Craft Finder Ltd or any other third party.

The majority of content posted on the Craft Finder websites is created by artists, designer-makers and crafts people. The views expressed are theirs and unless specifically stated are not those of Craft Finder.

Craft Finder Ltd is not liable for any of the following losses or damage (whether such damage or losses were foreseen, foreseeable, known or otherwise): (a) loss of data; (b) loss of revenue or anticipated profits; (c) loss of business; (d) loss of opportunity; (e) loss of goodwill or injury to reputation; (f) losses suffered by third parties; or (g) any indirect, consequential, special or exemplary damages arising from the use of Craft Finder websites regardless of the form of action e.g. the use of its information.

Craft Finder Ltd does not warrant that functions available on its websites will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that Craft Finder websites or the servers which make it available are free of viruses or bugs. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to implement sufficient procedures and virus checks (including anti-virus and other security checks) to satisfy your particular requirements for the accuracy of data input and output.

The failure or delay of Craft Finder Ltd to exercise or enforce any right in these terms does not waive Craft Finder’s right to enforce that right.

These terms shall be governed by English law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
