Porcelain is my chosen material because the glazes have a brilliance and sensuous quality. I am drawn to curves and soft shapes so I alter my thrown pieces to achieve this end. The surface decoration is of swirling circles and the soft grey blue glazes on top give the illusion of a watery surface. I make dishes for food often with smaller vessels inside as well as dishes on pillars which are designed to be bird baths.
