These simple thrown or slip cast porcelain vessels create what I see as a blank canvas for the application of pattern and mark making. My drawings of natural forms inspire a mixture of gestural and more controlled lines. I use a subtle colour range of slips, under glazes, ceramic transfers and glaze that are also influenced by the natural world and my drawings.
It is important to me that each piece I make works as a whole so I try to make the markings fit the form and become as much an integral part of the body as possible using a variety of decorating techniques.
The wares I create are versatile in function whilst also decorative and can be displayed in groups or as individual pieces.
